Blogging Your Business – Price Engines Top Tips
Monday, October 6th, 2008‘Blogging’ might seem like just another fad, but blogs are changing the way that customers think about products and services – and the companies that supply them. With your own blog, you can communicate directly with your customers and give your company a ‘human face’.
Writing a blog doesn’t have to be complicated either. You aren’t writing a brochure that needs to be approved by the marketing department, this is a conversation about your company and why it is great. To help get you started, we’ve put together this list of top tips to get your new business blog off the ground:
- Blog about your products: Where was your last installation? Do you have some photographs or a quote from the customer? Get them up, so that potential customers can see what it’s like to buy your products from you.
- Blog about your industry: You’re the experts, show people that on your blog! New government legislation, advice on modern materials and standards, anything that helps show how well you know your industry.
- Blog about your company: If you’re headed for a trade show or event, blog about it before you go so that people who see you there can read about it (and even write back) when they get home. Blog about it when you get back, so you can share your pictures with the world. Blog about staff promotions, new hires, TV appearances, industry accreditations and anything else relevant to your company. Give your company a human face, and customers will feel more confident about buying your services.
- Blog about anything! A member of staff has had their baby. The receptionist’s cat had kittens. The coffee machine broke and you had a team-building trip to Starbucks – these can all make great blog topics, and can inject humour and reality into your company’s image, helping you stand out from the competition.
