We’ll be closing for the Christmas holidays on Tuesday December 22nd and re-opening on Monday January 4th.
This means that between those dates, we won’t be delivering new leads – but you can still access your existing leads through your online Customer Admin Area, throughout the holiday period.
If you’d rather not receive fresh leads during your own holiday shutdown period, remember to login to your Customer Admin Area and switch your account ‘Off’. You can use our new timer facility to switch your account back on at a time to suit you. That way you won’t miss out on any leads just because you forgot to switch your account back ‘On’.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your valued custom during 2009 and we look forward to serving you in 2010, when we’ll be introducing even more innovative features, to help you make the most of our qualified sales lead delivery.
The Directors and Staff,
Price Engines Ltd.

Wheels within wheels, what goes around etc.. who could have predicted a seemingly everyday “is now following you” notification from Twitter would end up where it did.
It all began when we received a notification from Twitter that Mike Handley – Director of a graphic design and printing company in nearby Belper was following Price Engines on Twitter.
As with all followers, we visited his Twitter profile @graphic_results to find out more.
Whilst we were reading his ‘bio’, we noticed his last tweet had been about an office initiative to replace all their light bulbs with low energy bulbs. The resulting cost saving had equalled around £800 in 2009.
So when we followed Mike back, we were also able to direct him to our new dedicated blog for Solar Panel Quoter where we ran a short story on his offices money saving initiative with the lightbulbs, the following day.
So you see, you never know where a simple request will end up. Are you following Price Engines on Twitter yet? Click here to follow Price Engines now.
And don’t forget, if you’d like to receive your new lead delivery notifications by twitter as well, you just need to follow us and then select the Twitter delivery option in your Customer Admin Area.
Lead notifications via Twitter are sent as private messages so only you’ll see them, hence the need to follow us first before selecting that option.

If you’ve visited your Price Engines Customer Admin Area in the past few days, you may have noticed that we’ve been making some updates and alterations.
New Login System
We’ve updated the login system that the site uses, with several significant benefits, including:
Case-insensitive passwords – you no longer have to worry about leaving caps-lock on by accident or forgetting whether your password is in upper case or lower case.
Easy Log Out – you can now log out of the Admin Area without having to quit your browser. The system will also log you out automatically after 90 minutes’ inactivity, to help ensure the security of your account.
Fast Account Switching – if you have more than one Price Engines account and they are linked together, you can switch between accounts instantly,
Forgot Your Password? – You can now recover a forgotten password easily using the link below the login form.
Auto Go-Live
Until now, when you switched your account off temporarily – for instance, to go on holiday you had to remember to switch it back on again when you got back or miss out on leads.
One common request we’ve had from customers is for a simple way to schedule a reminder to turn your Price Engines account back on, preventing you from losing potential customers.
Well, we’ve gone one better than that and added our new Auto Go-Live system, a handy form which appears when you switch your account off and allows you to schedule a date and time you’d like your account to automatically switch back on. If you choose a go-live date, we’ll email you a confirmation of when your account will switch back on. The on/off button will also change to show an alarm clock beside the Off setting.
We’re already working on an extra setting which will give you a one click ‘cancel’ facility.
Using our new Auto Go-Live system means you won’t have to worry about losing business because you’ve gone on holiday ever again.

How homeowners can leave feedback retrospectively
We’ve recently updated and re-designed our homeowners login area, where homeowners can see which companies we’ve placed their details with, download deposit protection certificates and leave their feedback on you, to include a new feature where they can actual view previously left feedback that you’ve published from your Customer Admin Area – Feedback tools.
When publishing feedback, there is a facility to leave your own public comment or clarification etc which is then also viewable by homeowners.
We’ve had several requests from companies asking is it possible for homeowners to go back and leave feedback when prompted by you?
The good news is that it is possible.
When a homeowner first uses our service, they’re sent an email with their login details to access their personal online area. If they’ve lost or forgotten / deleted that email, they can still login.
The homeowner needs to go to our ‘Quoter family website – homeimprovementquotes.co.uk
Then from the ‘About Us’ tab, select ‘Home Owner Login Area’ and click on ‘Customer Log In’. They’ll be asked for their email and password. Providing they use the email address they gave at the time of confirming their details with our sales advisors, they’ll be able to use the ‘forgot my password’ feature – we’ll email them their password again.
They can then login as normal and leave feedback and star ratings etc.
Getting your customers to leave feedback, and then publishing it is a great way to stand out from other companies we may have recommended to a homeowner and all helps build a confidence in why they should use your company.
We’ve even blogged about the above procedure over on our homeowners blog – click here. It might be a useful resource to direct any homeowners who ask ‘how to?’ for guidance.

Using our brand new homeowner facing tools you can now control what feedback and testimonials your potential customers can see about your company. Update your account settings today to maximise your sales.
We direct all homeowners who use our Quoter sites to a customer information website where they can find contact details and other information for your company and others we may have recommended to them.
This week, we’ve released a major upgrade to these tools, which gives homeowners even more information they can use, and give you new opportunities to go one above the competition.
A major part of this upgrade concerns our new testimonials and feedback system, which allows homeowners to leave feedback regarding their experiences with companies we’ve matched them with. Homeowners can now now use our system to read feedback given to you by previous customers who’ve used your company.
This gives you the chance to share reviews with potential customers really easily – and we give you complete control over what to share, as well as the ability to reply to specific feedback before you publish it. All you need to do is head to your Customer Admin area and select which homeowner testimonials you would like to have ‘published’, making it available for homeowners to read.
We’ve also built in loads more goodies, including being able to edit and review your homeowner-facing ‘public profile’, giving you the chance to manage what information customers can see about your company, and to create web links from your own site directly to your published feedback.
So don’t forget to encourage customers to leave their feedback and if it’s worth sharing, get it published.

Apologies to any companies or affiliates that tried to sign up online with Price Engines Ltd over this weekend (Sat/Sun 14th and 15th November) – the form was offline and not accepting new signups.
Existing customers already using our lead generation or affiliate scheme services were unaffected.
The fault has been traced and corrected and online sign up is now working correctly again. Sorry for any confusion caused.

We’ve been running our affiliate scheme for over a year now, and it’s proved itself to be a great way for home improvements companies and others to make money from leads they can’t work themselves. This might include leads from out of your area, or visitors to your website looking for other products.
The system is extremely simple: you can pass us leads by entering them into the form on the delivery area, or putting a button or widget on your website. We pay up to £15 per lead – £5 every time a lead you have given us is placed with a company in our network.
For more information, have a look at the Affiliates page on the Price Engines Website and the Affiliate Info page in your Customer Admin Area.
Hundreds of companies are signed up to our affiliate scheme, and we pay thousands of pounds a week to affiliates. Don’t let leads go to waste when you can’t work them – join our growing family of Price Engines affiliates today.
