How easily can customers interact with your company?

The Internet is such a diverse source of information and no more so than the ways in which an individual can choose to interact with you based on their own online social medium preferences.

That was a bit of a mouthful – let me explain further.

Some people are quite happy to visit your website, others may be interested to receive alerts when you update your website (to save them missing anything – after all, you can’t expect them to keep popping back just to check can you?). Others spend all their time on social sites like Facebook or Twitter whilst others will be keen readers, writers and followers of Blogs that interest them, including micro blogging platforms like Tumblr (which make sharing all kinds of online content including video incredibly easy).

Whatever platform or programme they prefer to use, if you want to stay in touch with both existing and potential customers, it’s vital to embrace as many of these different platforms as you’re comfortable with.

It doesn’t have to be big, you don’t have to update every day and each platform has it’s own etiquette and ‘rules of engagement’.

The thing is – can you afford to miss the opportunity to interact with those customers? I didn’t think so.

Ask for feedback

The other day, we were asked by a company how they could improve their feedback star rating from the default setting when they’d first joined our lead generation service?

Here’s how it works:
When we place a homeowners details with a company, at that same time, we also send the homeowner an email (if they provided an email address), with details of how they can login to their own online area and see who we’ve recommended them to.

From this online area, they can leave feedback on their own experience with you, as well as read previous feedback from other homeowners – both the good and the not so.

We send a further email a week later to remind them to leave their invaluable feedback and just last week, we also started a new text reminding service which sends a simple text message to their mobile phone (if they gave us a mobile number), asking them to login and leave their comments.

Of course, there’s nothing to stop you reminding homeowners, when you visit or speak with them, to leave some feedback on how happy they were with your service.

That way, you’ll be able to show future potential customers how good your company really is, with comments from the people that matter most – your customers.

The easy way to put your offers in front of homeowners for free

Is it time to change your password?

It’s good practice to regularly change your account password, particularly so if you’ve had recent staff changes or allowed login details to be known to other staff members whilst you’ve been on holiday etc.

It only takes a moment to update.

Firstly, login to your Customer Admin Area and from the navigation options on the left choose ‘Tools’.

Select ‘Change password’ – you’ll be asked to enter your present password and then your new password followed by a repeat of your new password to confirm. Click ‘Submit’ to complete the update.

Remember, your password should be between 6 and 20 characters using A-Z, 0-9. They’re not case sensitive.

Clearing up a little confusion on the Renewable Heat Incentive scheme

Last week, a homeowner left a particular feedback about a Solar Panel Installer. In it, he thought that the company had tried to miss-lead him by referring to the Renewable Heat Incentives scheme – a scheme that he (the homeowner) knew to be cancelled / scrapped.

Just to keep everyone up to date – installers and homeowners alike – here’s the latest (as of 22nd July 2010) on the Renewable Heat Incentives scheme’s future.

Certainly not cancelled yet but as you’ll read, under review as to how best it can be implemented.
