Why you should follow businesses on Twitter

July 7th, 2010

Our resident web guru has some thoughts on why you should follow businesses on twitter…

There’s been lots written about why, as a business you should be using Twitter or as an individual, you should be using Twitter, to communicate with a growing circle of like-minded ‘Tweeps’ / attract new business etc.

The world is shrinking faster than we realise.

But there’s not a lot to suggest why you should follow someone or a particular business or brand.

Here’s my take on why you should make the small effort to follow your favourite brands or individuals.

1 – The opportunity to converse directly with them.
2 – The opportunity to hear the latest news first.
3 – The opportunity to ‘bag a bargain’.
4 – The opportunity to see the ‘real’ them.
*Note to companies: Keep your twitter feed clean or issue acceptable content guidelines if it’s a joint account. I do see examples of bad language which just get a swift ‘un-follow’ for their trouble.
5 – The opportunity to learn something.
6 – The opportunity of a shared experience.
7 – The opportunity to re-tweet.
8 – The opportunity to be helpful.

I’ve just rattled this list out off the top of my head – I’m sure there are many more reasons why you should or would want to follow a particular brand or company.

What’s your experience? Have you found Twitter helped you as a customer or a company? Are you missing an opportunity?

It’s not every day you’re offered free advertising…

Put your offers in front of the customer that matters most – the one you’re just about to speak to.

That was the subject line to yesterdays email out to over 6,500 home improvement companies who’ve previously registered with Price Engines to receive the freshest sales leads in the UK.

Click here to read a copy of our mail out yourself and take the opportunity to put your offers in front of homeowners before they see any companies at all.

If you’re already registered with Price Engines, it’s really easy to add or update your offers and promotions – simply Login to your Customer Admin Area, under Account Details, click Update Profile and type your offer in the ‘Offer Bank’ space provided. (don’t forget to press ’save’ after you’re done).

Remember – home owners will see exactly what you type so don’t forget to check those spellings!

If your Fitters and Salesmen have England Flags on their vehicles… read this.

June 11th, 2010

If your installation teams or salespeople have fitted those little England flags to their vehicles, then you need to read this:

They could be affecting the MPG by as much as 6 miles per gallon – per flag!

New WindowQuoter is proving a real winner

June 10th, 2010

About a month ago, we launched the new and completely redesigned WindowQuoter website.

Improved and easier to use with a whole new ‘basket style’ interface that homeowners can use to drag and drop preferred window styles before being prompted for measurements and material choices.

It’s proving to be a big hit with homeowners so far and we continue to evaluate its use and performance against our old WindowQuoter online quotes website which has, and continues to do, sterling work.

New – low account funds alerts

May 12th, 2010

Here at Price Engines, our mission is to make sure you have every opportunity to do business.

So we’re constantly updating and adding new useful features to our systems and your Customer Admin Area to ensure that.

One such area is where companies are using our pre-pay option to budget their lead delivery.

Previously, these companies have had to keep an eye on their own balances and if they’d exhausted it without realising, it wasn’t until they stopped receiving sales leads that they were alerted.

So, to stop the interruption to your lead flow, we’ve introduced a new ‘low-balance’ alert service.

Login to your Customer Admin Area and under Account Details > Update account – at the very bottom you’ll see a new field ‘Low Balance Alert Level’ – simply enter an amount in pounds that once your account falls below, you’d like to receive an email alert.

Press ‘Save’ to save your changes.

You can amend this figure at any time or switch off any of the account alerts we offer as part of our service.

Price Engines – giving you every opportunity to do business.

New Product! Extensions WITH Planning Permission

April 28th, 2010

We’ve added some new options under our Conversions and Extension Leads.

From today, you can now opt to just receive extension leads where the homeowner has already got planning permission or general extension leads (no planning permission) or both.

Login to your Customer Admin Area and in Account Details > Select lead types and under Conversions & Extensions, you’ll find the new option: extensions – have planning permission.

Simply drag this option into your selection to add these lead types to your profile.

If you’re happy to continue working non-planning permission leads (as previously), then leave ‘Extensions’ in your selection also.

We’ll be qualifying with home owners on the phone if they’ve got planning permission or not before we match them against live accounts, so you won’t get the same homeowner details twice by having both product types selected.

Extension leads with planning permission gained – the latest qualified sales leads now available from Price Engines Ltd.

p.s to ensure current live companies don’t miss out, we’ve already updated your accounts with the new extension option!

Offer Bank Updated with new features – Old Offers are deleted

April 21st, 2010

As previously announced, all offers referring to expiry dates in March (and a couple in February) have now been removed from homeowner display.

To help you keep track of when offers should be removed, we’ve introduced a new ‘diary’ feature.

Now, when you update your Offer Bank with your special offers, you’ll see there’s a small ’set expiry date’ menu. You must set an expiry date to publish your offer.

We’re working on improving this still further by creating a set of automated email reminders to you so you get advanced warning of an offer expiring and the opportunity to submit a new one / update an existing offer before your old offer expires.

Don’t forget – Your offers are now published next to your profile details in a homeowners individual login area so it’s a great way to really set your company apart from the other 2 companies we’re able to recommend to them.

Out of date offers to be deleted – update yours now!

April 14th, 2010

Our ‘Offer Bank’ feature continues to be a huge success – your offers promoted to our website visitors completely free.

However, some offers still mention closing dates of March and even February. From next week, these expired offers will be deleted by Price Engines.

It’s important your offers are up to date as we’re updating the homeowner login area to display your offers on your company details information.

If you haven’t already, login to your Customer Admin Area to update your account with your latest offers.

We’ll continue to showcase your current offers via our website and homeowner newsletters. The deletion process will be carried out by hand so rest assured any current offers will remain.

To update or promote your current customer offers, login – and under Account Details > Update Profile, type your offer in the Offer Bank panel. Press ‘Save’ (bottom right-hand corner) to finish.
